The terrible two's

I am not sure if it is the terrible two's or the fact that we didn't lay him down at his normal 7:30 bedtime, but my child threw a tantrum like I have never seen today. He is a little obsessed with anything fun anyways. Stuff like bubbles, cars, painting, coloring, etc... He kinda goes crazy when you take it away from him. One second he is this sweet, cute, bubbly little kid painting and the next he is some snotty, screaming, demon baby when you tell him it is time to stop painting. I was just trying to be a good mom and do a craft with the little stinker. Little did I know he was going to try to rip my curtains off and start smacking the dishwasher (literally). It kinda makes me want to never do anything fun. Now before you think Judah or I are crazy let me say that he is usually THE SWEETEST KID EVER. He just really likes painting, I guess. and I am probably a little crazy, but most people like me, or they keep hanging out with me. Anyways being the great mom that I am I OF COURSE was taking pictures the whole time.

"oh painting, how I love you"

"Need a little blue over here"

"I am doing good"

"Got some on my hand might as well use it"

"WHY, GOD, WHY???"

"How could you do this to me, mama???"

"I will show her to never take paint away from me by running around the kitchen screaming
and ripping that curtain down that she loves so much"

"Ahhhhhh...Ahhhhhhh...Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

So what does every good parent do to calm their child down?

Gives them ice cream and takes them to Noni's.

I know, I know that's not really good parenting,
but desperate times call for desperate measures.

I love old stuff!!!

My sister Karis has opened my eyes to estate sales. I mean I have known about them and even gone to a few, but I have officially fallen in love and become obsessed. I think I am even rubbing off on Dave. He googled them for like an hour last night. They make me really sad, but happy at the same time. Sad because you don't know whose stuff it is and where they are now. Are they dead? or in a nursing home? and I wouldn't want strangers rummaging through my stuff! Happy because it is going to a new home were I will love and cherish it for them, and it is usually really cheap. These are a few little things I picked up at the last one.

Cute vintage animal curtains for Judah's room
Not sure if I will use them as curtains or do something else.
Let me know if you have any good ideas!

A fun old bedspread.
I washed it and it still smells a bit musty
Let me know if you have any good tips on that too:)

A bunch of old pillowcases that the crafty me would like to make into a quilt
We will see if it ever happens!

If you have free time definitely scope out your area and go to an estate sale
It is fun just to look and usually there are great finds!

Dear Mom...

Today is my beautiful mothers birthday. It is hard to do a birthday shout out to your mother, especially when you love her as much as I do. I do not know exactly how to put into words how much she means to me, but I will try anyway!

Mom~
You are kind and loving even when we don't deserve it.
You are always there when we need anything.
You give generously of your time and your love.
You listen to us with patience.
You are forgiving and gracious.
You always give us the benefit of the doubt
and you have a soft spot for those that are in need.
You love Judah a lot!

You are beautiful, hardworking, and extremely caring.
You are a wonderful daughter, sister, wife,
noni, friend, but most of all
mother!

Thank you for dedicating your life to raising and
loving me and the other siblings.
Thanks for loving me and my family so well.
I know I don't always express it, but I would not
make it without all your love and support (and help:)!

Love, Kace

Happy Fall Yall!

I have no camera or video camera at the moment, so I feel a little lost. I have not been taking many pictures lately anyways, but I hate not having the option to document if I want. At the same time it is nice to be able to really enjoy the things that I am doing instead of being half there because I am behind a camera. So since I have no pictures to post I am just going to ramble for awhile (or they will be old pics).

Anyways it is finally fall, but it has been hot until today and now it is FREEZING! We were thinking about going camping for the first time as a family of three this weekend, but it is SO cold now I don't know if I can handle it. I could never live anywhere like Alaska or Wyoming or anywhere that has colder winters than GA. If it warms up and we go camping we are going all the way to Stone Mountain Park. I know it is only 5 minutes away, but we wanted to start somewhere were we could abandon it in the middle of the night if the need arises. I hope it works out because the thought of fire, smores, hot chocolate, a little hike, and being in the woods sounded nice.

I am going to try to be a little more consistent as far as writing on the blog. One way that I am going to do that is I am going to steal an idea that my friend (Maggie) did and do likes and dislikes for the week (more realistically monthly).
Here goes nothing...

LIKES~
Soy Chai frappachino WITH whip cream. (I know that it doesn't make sense to get soy and whip cream, but my stomach can't handle too much milk. The whip cream is def worth a stomach ache)

Pumpkin festival ale. Enough said. So good.

My little parrot Judah. He is repeating everything anyone says. Things like "Fire in the hole", or when a lady at the park said " hey beautiful".

Husbands that work really hard without complaining.

Eating pumpkin pie with the Naylor family (minus Cole and Micah).

Holding teeny tiny baby Georgia.

The fact that Judah has begun finding ways to entertain himself and the fact that it includes matchbox cars.

My house being clean and laundry being done before going away for a couple days.

That my friend Liz married the man God had for her.

Sweaters and boots.

DISLIKES...

Walking in the freezing cold.

The lack of motivations to do anything active.

Dogs that won't stop barking.

That my friend Liz moved far far away (I know it is a good thing, but I still don't like it this week).

My husbands beard. That might sounds harsh, I know. He is handsome no matter what, but it is a little overkill at this point. It is scratchy, tickly, and adds 10 years to his beautiful face.

Not having a good book to read.

Judah getting his molars. Crying, screaming, holding mouth, going to the dr., not being able to eat, baby and mama torture.

That's about it for this week. What are some things you like or dislike???
